Just One Look at You

"This painting is based on T.C. Cannon’s iconic “Self Portrait in Studio”, 1975. T.C. was of the Caddo, Kiowa and Choctaw heritage. The woman is the chair is Muskogee and is a visual artist. She is wearing a dress designed by Dante Biss-Grayson of Sky Eagle Collection. The chair is his in his studio and appears frequently in his photos. His logo is in black/red on the wall and above it is a portion of a painting of Erin Lewis in honor of the year of the woman. The music “Just One Look at You” was playing in my studio as I was painting." - Karen Clarkson (8/8/2024)
