This is one of my own “modernist” forms representing a salmon. Initially inspired by Brancusi’s Bird In Flight. I turn the tables on the modernists allowing their influence of form enter into my work. The same way that the Modernists drew inspiration from Native, African and Oceanic cultures which evolved into the genre termed Primitivism.
