A Collaboration with Angela Swedberg
“The Scythian Steed” is a collaboration between glass artist Shelley Muzylowski Allen and beadwork artist, conservator, and restoration specialist Angela Swedberg. This sculpture provides a fresh and vibrant twist on taxidermy art. Swedberg brings her extensive knowledge of materials and Plateau beadwork to the project, while Shelley Muzylowski Allen tailors her glass additions to subtlety complement the natural and historic materials. Each artist shows a clear sensitivity and understanding of the other’s aesthetic.
