Ross Richmond’s sculptures have long focused on the human figure, capturing fleeting moments, gestures, and quiet interactions. His work often explores the connection between humans and the natural world, with animals playing a key role. Whether included as part of figurative pieces or as standalone works, his depictions of animals evoke elegance, natural form, and, at times, anthropomorphic qualities.

Richmond’s journey with glass began in 1991, while studying illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art. He graduated with a BFA in Glass and a minor in small metals in 1994. In 1997, he began working under the mentorship of renowned glass artist William Morris, a partnership that lasted until Morris’s retirement in 2007.

Throughout his career, Richmond has worked with some of the most influential artists in the glass world, including William Morris, Jane Rosen, Preston Singletary, and Dale Chihuly. These collaborations have been integral to his development as an artist, shaping his innovative approach to glass sculpture.
