Sabrina Knowles and Jenny Pohlman celebrated 25 years of collaboration in 2018 with a solo exhibition at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, “Jenny Pohlman & Sabrina Knowles: Synchronicity - 25 Years of Collaboration,” and with a book of the same title published by Trillium Press.
Their work is in the collections of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Flint Art Institute, Henry Ford Museum, Imagine Museum, St. Petersburg, FL, Lowe Museum of Art, Miami, Mobile Museum of Art, Museum of American Glass, Museum of Glass, National Liberty Museum, New Bedford Museum of Glass, Racine Art Museum and Tacoma Art Museum among others.
Knowles’ and Pohlman’s work has been featured in exhibitions at Edmunds Museum, Larsen Museum in Yakima, Museum of Northwest Art in La Connor, and the Pratt Gallery at the Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle. Their work has been included in group exhibitions at Allentown Art Museum in Pennsylvania, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and Bellevue Arts Museum in Washington, Museum of American Glass in Millville, New Jersey, Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Muskegon Museum of Art in Michigan, New Bedford Museum of Glass in Massachusetts, Racine Art Museum in Wisconsin, and Tacoma Art Museum.
Among their awards are a Gaffer Olympics residency at Pilchuck Glass School 2015; residencies at Museum of Glass, Tacoma 2014, 2007 and 2003; Pratt Fine Arts Center’s Service in the Arts Award 2011 and Service in Education award 2000; Saxe Fellowship award, Bay Area Glass Institute, San Jose, 2009; and residencies at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center 2004 and 1999.
In 2000 Pohlman and Knowles founded the Pohlman Knowles Teen Fund at Pratt Fine Arts Center and continue to sponsor the scholarship annually. They served as trustees for the Bellevue Arts Museum (’09 - ’12), Pratt Fine Arts Center (’13 - ’18) Jenny currently serves as chair of the board at Pratt. They support Pilchuck Glass School and Pratt Fine Arts Center through annual auction donations and contributions, and support additional organizations with periodic donations.
Their work has been published in American Style, GLASS, Glass Art Magazine, Metalsmith, New Glass Review, The Seattle Times and in several books on glass art.
